Managers who consider telework for all employees on all construction sites, while ensuring that Canadians continue to work critically and use services. Flexible employment, such as telework and work in regional offices, was the second most common form of flexing identified by interviewees, as well as the second most common. Some interviewees found that promoting telework and other forms of remote work can not only help workers reduce labour costs, but also have environmental benefits. Normally, ergonomic assessments are not usually done by the employer in the worker`s home. Especially during the COVID-19 crisis, since we are all trying to reduce exposure and transmission of the virus, it is certainly not advisable to invite someone into your home. Use the resources available to make your telecommuting space as comfortable as possible under current circumstances. At this unprecedented time, if we do not work in critical functions and are forced to report to the workplace, we must stay in our homes and, if possible, telework. In exceptional circumstances, employees with specialized ergonomic equipment in the office may not have similar devices at home. In these cases, the worker should discuss with management the type of work performed (if critical), the type of specific prescribed ergonomic equipment, and instructions on requirements to see what can be done as a temporary measure while the worker is working from home.

In general, a number of stakeholders called on the federal government to emulate the best elements of flexible-time work approaches in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. All of these approaches create a legal right to apply for and share similar principles, but differ to some extent on certain aspects, such as claim, information requirements, application processing procedures, and grounds for dismissing an application and appeal. If you telework in a province or territory different from where you would normally work, your province of work will not change in taxation, as the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenue Quebec provide. Your source deductions remain based on your province`s work rates. In addition, registered paid leave continues to be based on the province in which you usually work. One of the common messages of stakeholders was that the federal government must provide employers and workers – continuously – with clear information and guidance on roles and responsibilities, in accordance with the corresponding provisions of the code, in order to successfully implement a right to demand. It was ideally proposed that vocational education and training also be used for employers and workers. In addition, many interest groups, including employers` organizations, have argued that the federal government should rely on information, education and other forms of proactive compliance before imposing them.
